VideoCut is a free, browser-based video editing tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (spoiler: virtually none) and how our service works.
2. No Data Collection
VideoCut processes all video files entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly technology (FFmpeg.wasm). This means:
- Your video files are never uploaded to any server.
- No video content is transmitted over the internet.
- All trimming, audio editing, and resolution changes happen locally on your device.
- Once you close or refresh the page, all file data is removed from browser memory.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
- Video files or any media content
- Account credentials (we have no accounts)
- Payment information (the service is entirely free)
- Location data
4. Cookies and Tracking
VideoCut does not use cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party tracking scripts. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar services. Your browsing activity on VideoCut is not monitored or recorded.
5. Third-Party Resources
VideoCut loads the following third-party resources to function:
- FFmpeg.wasm core files from unpkg.com CDN — these are the WebAssembly binaries that power video processing. No personal data is sent to this CDN; it only serves static files.
- Google Fonts — for loading the Inter typeface. Google's font serving may log standard web request data (IP address, user agent). See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
6. Data Security
Since all processing occurs locally in your browser, your data is as secure as your own device. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date for the best security. No data is transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any data-processing servers.
7. Children's Privacy
VideoCut does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect data, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we do not collect your email or any contact information, we cannot notify you directly of changes.
