By accessing and using VideoCut (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. VideoCut is a free, browser-based video editing tool provided “as is” without warranty.
2. Description of Service
VideoCut provides browser-based video editing capabilities including but not limited to:
- Video trimming and cutting
- Audio adjustments (mute, volume control)
- Video resolution changes
- Video export and download
All processing is performed locally on your device using WebAssembly technology. No video data is uploaded to or processed on external servers.
3. User Responsibilities
By using VideoCut, you agree that:
- You have the legal right to edit any video you upload to the Service.
- You will not use the Service to process content that infringes on intellectual property rights, copyrights, or trademarks of others.
- You will not use the Service to edit or create content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- You are solely responsible for the content you edit and the resulting output.
- You will comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
4. Intellectual Property
Your content: You retain all rights to your video files. VideoCut does not claim any ownership or license over the content you edit. Since files are processed locally, we never have access to your content.
Our service: The VideoCut website, interface, design, and code are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the Service beyond what is permitted by open-source licenses of the underlying technologies used.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
VideoCut is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
- The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable.
- The Service will meet your specific requirements.
- Any errors in the Service will be corrected.
Video processing capabilities depend on your device's hardware, browser support, available memory, and the size/format of your video files. Large files may cause performance issues or browser crashes.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VideoCut and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. This includes any damages resulting from errors in video processing, corrupted output files, or data loss during the editing process.
7. Third-Party Technology
VideoCut relies on open-source software, including FFmpeg (via FFmpeg.wasm), which is licensed under the LGPL/GPL. The use of FFmpeg is subject to its own license terms. We also use third-party CDNs to deliver software components. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of these third-party services.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its hosting infrastructure.
- Use the Service to process content in violation of any law or regulation.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service beyond what is available as open source.
- Use automated tools to excessively load or scrape the Service.
9. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
10. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
11. Governing Law
